1,000 Travellers To Be Evicted, Is This A Joke?

They will stay till hell freezes over the parasites, the council are too afraid to evict them so they extract the urine and ponce off of the state. They erect buildings with no planning permission and help you clear out your garden sheds and garages (but you can always buy your possessions back at one of the local boot sales if they haven’t decided to keep them) they help the land by discharging effluent all over the place and generally are just such good neighbours.
No, I’m not referring to the old hippy types who are normally good natured old layabouts but the thieving rubbish that use the human rights act to destroy life for so many decent people who have to pay the tab.

I thought Traveller got their name because they liked to move around and not be settled ie, travel. So evict them. Let them be travellers!!! When they want to settle in one place, they are not travellers and should be treated as everyone else – not given carte blanche to wreck the lives of anyone unfortunate to live near them. They should also not get preferential treatment by council housing departments. They are not a minority group – just an anti social band of yobs who get away with anti social behaviour and causing destruction and misery because they have this lable ‘travellers’ attached to them.
What have the government done about transit sites in the last twenty years or more. Nothing. Hence the rebellious behaviour and your ongoing problems. Would you pay into any system if you kept getting moved on ? There are two sides to this and many reasons why they are there damaging your environment. Dont worry just do nothing as your government keep allowing the building of Tescos everywhere and while there are mulitudes of derelict houses which could be redeveloped creating homes and employment. Dont forget you have to consider the Mr Speaker’s wife’s taxi bills for shopping trips first !!
i quite agree. its time for Britain to say to all of these different social groups and religions either become a normal and productive part of society. or get out and stay out. don’t expect state support. what is it about Britain that every one wants to wreck and abuse what ever social help is put in place???
no joke and i hope that they do get evicted, parasites and not gypsies most of them. But travellers, who cause undue damage to peoples property, land, and pay nothing. If they are hopefully that sets a precedent and more get the order of the boot.
Club together and hire a JCB.
Use it to block all but one entrance to the camp with large earthworks.
Inform them the last entrance will be blocked in 2 hours.
Watch them shift.
Oh yes – no joke. As far as I am concerned they can “travel” as far as they like, preferrably all the way to the Atlantic and keep going till they sink!!
we have to except planning regulations & so should should travellers
I totally agree with you. They should be shifted but they won’t be.
Well said One Life couldnt agree more
We seem to have the same problem in Devon and the mess they leave beggars belief. The Council Tax payer has to foot the bill for the clean up and the legal expenses. Surely this money could be taken from their benefits?. The DWP visit these sites every week and hand out the Giros, they wouldn’t do that for anybody else. This is all the fault of the do gooders and the pc brigade who seem to encourage this sort of behaviour. Good luck to you and I hope you get rid of them.
40 families were given planning permission to stay at Dale Farm in the 1960s and the number has more than doubled over the last 40 years (not surprisingly). No idea why it has taken so long to come to the conclusion that they need to be moved on. More than slightly late really, when there are now so many people that moving them on will cause a lot of problems.
Whatever you may think of travellers, surely it is better to have them all in one place and be able to reduce the risk of worrying people when they are moved off to other places, where no doubt the same problems will apply ? We all only get “One Life” after all, better it should be as happy as possible for all.
Edit: Any traveller, whether they be the type in caravans or the type that does European or Australia tours, all have to stop every now and then. At some point they may even attempt to settle down. So you are a NIMBY, most people are no doubt, but when there was planning permission for a number of these people, it only makes sense to me to make that planning permission greater in order to control the risk … Its only my point of view, I don’t expect everyone to concur.
Most of these sites seem to be police no-go areas, so it is hard to see how a local authority is able to do anything practical to evict these people. I remember one particular family in north London where procreation was so rife that two of them were found copulating on the floor of the foyer of the local magistrates’ court and had to be moved on by an usher! All the children of that particular family seemed to look the same and every time one of them was arrested for anything a younger sibling who was obviously under ten, the age of criminal responsibility, would be sent to court on his behalf with the tribal mother swearing blind that this was the child who had been arrested. They were completely out of control!
My next door neighbour was deliberately knocked down and driven at by a driver with whom she had remonstrated over parking on the grass verge. The woman was traced to the local traveller site and the police refused to bring any charges, claiming that the driver in question “suffered from depression”! There is a general feeling of powerlessness against them.
