If you are thinking about adding a storage shed, you may want to consider adding a porch to your shed.  It won’t cost you that much more, but you will be able to use your porch in many different ways.  Use it as additional workspace or add some patio furniture and a few plants to dress it up a bit.  If you have your friends over at the end of the day, it is a great place to hang out and have a few brewskys.  Whatever your reason, it would be a great addition to any storage shed, but I wouldn’t recommend building one without a good set of storage shed plans with a porch. My husband has been looking for a set of plans for a potting shed and has decided to get a set of storage shed plans with a porch that he can actually use for a potting shed.  The porch will be a great place for him to do his potting so he won’t have to be out in the direct sun.  He has decided to go with a rectangular shaped shed so he can have a longer porch which will allow enough room for his workspace plus I will have room to add some seating, maybe even a porch swing at the other end of the porch.Adding a porch to your storage shed really adds depth and allows your building to actually become part of your backyard landscape, instead of just looking like any other storage shed.  Building a storage shed with a porch is not that difficult if you have a good set of storage shed plans with a porch included.  It is very important to get all the angles and supports right so that your porch roof doesn’t collapse. With your plans you will get a material list, cut sheets and step by step instructions.  Take your material list to a couple different lumber yards to get prices, you may find you can save quite a bit of money, which will more than cover your cost of buying a good set of storage shed plans with a porch.  The cut sheets will save you a lot of construction time because they will detail out exactly how long to cut each piece of material and at what angle to ensure you have a perfect fit. And the step by step instructions, well, they speak for themselves. If you are going to build a storage shed and you have the space to add a porch, then I highly recommend you spend the few extra bucks on material.  It will add style, value and functionality to your investment. You will be glad you did.
